PAIPORTA, MEMÒRIA DEL FANG: Anniversary of the DANA of October 29, 2024 is an exhibition born of mud. Of the sludge left behind by the flood triggered by the DANA on October 29, 2024, which devastated homes, streets, and lives across the region of l’Horta Sud. That same mud, carefully collected in the days following the disaster, becomes here symbolic matter, physical archive, and a body of memory.
The pieces Petjades d’auxili, Paiporta preserve the footprints of rescue dogs that searched for bodies among the rubble. These marks, imprinted in the mud, are not mere traces: they are witnesses. Each one embodies a story of loss, of search, of urgency. The material does not represent pain—it holds it, remembers it, denounces it.
The exhibition unfolds as a space for collective mourning and reflection on the structural fragility of our territories. In the face of climate emergency and human tragedy, PAIPORTA, MEMÒRIA DEL FANG offers a response rooted in listening, presence, and art as a tool for symbolic repair. The works on display are a direct reflection of what occurred and of the deep emotional resonance of the Valencian people, who mourn their victims and demand political accountability for the negligent institutional management of the DANA.
Lluci Juan maintains an affective and professional bond with Paiporta, where the warehouse owned by her partner has served as an art studio, storage space, and site for future shared projects. Directly affected by the DANA, this place now becomes the symbolic origin of the exhibition and a material testimony to the disaster.
On October 29, 2025, alongside the exhibition of the works, Emergència: testimonis de dol col·lectiu will take place—a collective reading of real testimonies from the DANA, among those attending the exhibition. The action will unfold between 6:30 PM and 8:11 PM—the time when victims received the alert on their mobile phones, and when many had already passed away—activating the space as a site of living memory.
